Small Office Cleaning Checklist for Phoenix Businesses
Most small offices don’t need a cleaning crew every night. But they do need someone to keep the restrooms, breakroom and front entrance from slowly going downhill, because that’s what clients and employees notice first.
Here’s a practical checklist broken down by how often each task really needs to happen, plus how to figure out the right schedule for your space.

Daily (or every visit)
These are the areas people touch and see every day.
Restrooms
- Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks and counters
- Clean mirrors
- Restock paper towels, toilet paper and soap
- Empty trash
- Mop the floor
Breakroom / kitchen
- Wipe counters, tables and the sink
- Wipe the outside of the fridge, microwave and coffee machine
- Empty trash and recycling
Touch points
- Door handles, light switches, elevator buttons, shared phones and keyboards in common areas
Entrance and reception
- Glass doors and the front desk
- Vacuum or mop the entry
Trash
- Empty all bins and replace liners
Weekly
- Vacuum all carpeted areas
- Mop all hard floors
- Dust desks (cleared areas), shelves, window sills and furniture
- Clean inside the breakroom microwave
- Wipe chairs and conference tables
Monthly
- Dust vents, return grilles and high ledges
- Wipe baseboards
- Clean blinds
- Clean inside the breakroom fridge (with a heads-up to staff first)
- Spot-clean walls and doors
Quarterly or as needed
- Deep clean restrooms, including grout
- Carpet cleaning or floor care
- Interior windows and partitions
How often does your office need cleaning?
A rough guide based on what we see across Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe:
| Your office | Typical schedule |
|---|---|
| Under 10 people, no client traffic | Once a week |
| 10 to 25 people, or regular client visits | Two to three times a week |
| Customer-facing, medical or high traffic | Daily |
Two things change that math in Arizona. Dust: offices near construction, unpaved lots or with doors opening straight to the parking lot get dusty fast. Restrooms: if clients use them, they set the impression of your whole business.
After-hours cleaning
Most of our office clients prefer cleaning after business hours or early mornings, so nobody’s working around a vacuum. That means trusting a crew with access to your space. Ask any cleaning company how they handle keys, alarm codes and who will actually be in your building.
What to ask before you hire
- Are you insured? (Ask for proof.)
- Who exactly will be cleaning, and are they background-checked?
- Do you supply products and equipment?
- What happens if something gets missed?
- Is there a long-term contract, or can we adjust as we go?
Haven provides office cleaning, commercial cleaning and recurring janitorial services for small offices across the Valley, with one point of contact and no long contract. The first step is a quick walkthrough of your space so the quote matches the job. Request one here.
